"The FELDER family of La." by
"THE REZIN BOWIE FAMILY OF LOUISIANA"
"AND SUGGESTION FOR RURTHER RESEARCH"
BY: VIRGINIA LOBDELL JENNINGS
The Louisiana Genealogical & Historical Society will soon publish "The Rezin Bowie Family of Louisiana -- Documents Supporting Corrections and Additions Concering The Rezin Bowie Family of Louisiana ans Suggestions For Further Research". by: Virginia Lobdell Jennings.
The author has spent over 35 years compiling material on this remarkable pioneer family, and she sorts out the facts and fiction that are known to exist today. After James "Jim" Bowie, the son of Rezin was kiilled at the Alamo in 1836 and became a Texas hero, many people with the Bowie name in their genealogy attempted to prove a relationship to him, and some even claimed descent inaccurately. This book is not about "Jim Bowie". It is an attempt to correct the errors in the Rezin Bowie history, to include additional information with documentation, and further emphasize some of the area which future research should be directed.
Soft cover, 185 pages, Publication is anticipated for early 1998. For advance order information:

Celeste wrote, "I have all 7 vols of World Family Tree which consists of 2 million names from people who've submitted info from all over the world. I have found so much info from this. Next, I have the Marriage index of LA for 1718-1925; SSN 1937-1993; land records for LA; Ireland census index 1831, 1841; and Everton Pedigrees. What I have found is that I'm not very good with the Irish census bc I don't know what I'm looking at; but I can still look up stuff. And, like I said before, I have over 4000 names in my database which covers LA so this is another resource."
